Context

Molecular spectroscopy methods using surface plasmons are generally oriented towards techniques known as “surface-enhanced Raman scattering” (SERS) and surface-enhanced infrared absorption (SEIRA). In this context, the use of degenerate semiconductors is extremely advantageous for increasing the sensitivity of mechanisms and facilitating their integration in complete analysis systems.

Benefits

The SETES technique proposes to eliminate all incidental radiation in order to leverage the natural thermal radiation of target biomolecules. This makes is possible to significantly reduce the costs of analysis systems and expand the range of usable wavelengths. The SETES technique will therefore make it possible to develop compact analysis systems that are low cost, adaptable, and extremely accurate.
